FESCO Tariff

Every commodity has its price, something we have to pay when we use any commodity or utility. So it charges a price to its consumers for the usage of electricity, the electricity price is called the tariff rate.
It has designed a slab system to charge its consumers different prices for different users. Its tariff is directly proportional to consumption i.e. the price increases with the increase in consumption.
Some taxes and duties are also included in our utility bills, you can learn about all taxes and duties included in the bill by opening Taxes and Duties.
Moreover, to save poor consumers it has divided its consumers into 2 categories i.e. protected and non-protected consumers. We discuss these categories briefly.

FESCO Bill Tariff

Protected Consumers

The consumers who consume less than 200 units for 6 consecutive months are called protected consumers. It charges a lower rate for these consumers. They are not affected by any price hike or extra taxes imposed by Govt.

Un-Protected Consumers

The remaining consumers are called unprotected consumers. These consumers consume more than 200 units for at least one month in 6 months. These consumers are charged higher as compared to protected consumers.

Bill Slabs

It has created a slab system to save poor masses and to overcome the shortage of electricity. When consumers consume more electricity he is charged a higher rate than lower consumption consumers.
This system saves poor consumers but other consumers suffer a lot from this system.
