LESCO New Electricity Bill
LESCO, on the directions of NEPRA, has introduced a new electricity bill for the convenience of the consumers. It is simpler and easier to read. It contains less information than the old electricity bill. In this new government-proposed format, the taxes included in the electricity price are combined in one place, compared to the old format, in which all the taxes were listed separately. The old bill was tough to read because the taxes were listed separately. The new bill is simple and has less information.
It has great information for consumers about their category, like protected or non-protected, mentioned at the top, under the consumer information section. It has one box for taxes in which all taxes applied to the consumer’s bill are mentioned. It is for the convenience of consumers, so they can get an overview of all taxes applied to their bill in one box, rather than different taxes mentioned separately earlier. You can see the highlighted areas in the image below to understand the important information in the new electricity bill.

LESCO News | Cross-Subsidy Registration
The Government is providing a subsidy to protected consumers, i.e., those using less than 200 units for six months. They are charged less than the non-protected consumers; now the government has started printing the original amount of the bill along with the subsidy provided by the government. You need to verify your credentials to continue your subsidy. For this purpose, you need to scan the QR Code printed on your LESCO Bill.
When you scan the QR Code, you will be taken to the official portal, where you need to verify your details. Or you can directly open the subsidy portal and enter your information. Here, you need to verify your name, reference number, ID card number, tariff, and mobile number. After verifying your information, click the “Confirm” button. You will receive an OTP on the mobile number you provided. Enter your OTP in the given field and continue. You will receive the confirmation message that your information has been verified. You are done!
